Preventive Digestive Medicine Unit

The Preventive Digestive Medicine Unit provides personalised, specialised, scientifically proven care for all conditions involving the digestive tract and connected organs (gastroenterology), liver (hepatology), and pancreas (pancreatology).

Our aim is to carry out digestive tract studies using the best and most suitable technology with the aim of preventing digestive illnesses in both people who have symptoms and people who do not.

The Preventive Digestive Medicine Unit specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of digestive cancer, primarily colorectal cancer, and the associated syndromes (groups of symptoms that occur together), such as: burning, chest pain, dyspepsia, diarrhoea or constipation, gastrointestinal bleeding, hypertransaminemia and jaundice, pancreatitis, and more.

 

DIAGNOSTIC TESTS PERFORMED BY THE UNIT

  • External consultation, clinical visit and report.
  • H2 breath tests, including lactose, fructose, xylose, and lactulose.
  • 13C-Urea breath test for H. Pylori.
  • Abdominal ultrasound.
  • Anoscopy and rectoscopy.
  • Upper and lower endoscopy with sedation.
  • Echoendoscopy.
  • Capsule endoscopy.

 

BASIC DIGESTIVE CHECK-UP

  • Clinical visit, physical examination and rectal examination.
  • Analysis and faecal occult blood test using monoclonal antibodies. Monoclonal.
  • Upper and lower endoscopy with sedation, biopsies, and urease test.
