The Vaccination and Travel Unit aims to provide personalised attention for people travelling to ries that special precautionary measures. All the necessary information and healthcare before and after travel to a ry there are considered to be health risks is offered. The consultation can be completed online to learn the necessary precautionary measures as soon as possible.

The risk of picking up diseases varies according to individual susceptibility, the ry and zone visited, the time of year, the type of trip and its duration. Therefore, the consultations at the travel units are personalised and it is recommended that they be scheduled for a minimum of four to five weeks prior to travel, since some vaccines are not immediately effective. During these consultations, the traveller is informed of the risks to which they will be exposed, as well as the measures for preventing them. Furthermore, advice is given on preparing a first-aid kit and the necessary vaccines are administered according to the intended travel destination.

The services of the Unit are as follows:

  • Preventive measures for globally distributed and endemic diseases.
  • Preventive measures for sexually transmitted diseases.
  • Malaria prophylaxis (prevention).
